Cardiac Arrest Risk Triage (CART) score. Predicts in-hospital cardiac arrest within 48 hours in ward patients. Enables early escalation to prevent avoidable arrests.
Score interpretation
CART ≤ 20 0–20
Lower risk of ward cardiac arrest within 48 h.
→ Routine observations per the early-warning system.
CART > 20 — Higher Risk 21–57
Higher risk of ward cardiac arrest within 48 h (specificity about 92 %).
→ Escalate for medical review per the local deterioration pathway.
