SNOT-22 (Sinonasal Outcome Test)

Patient-reported outcome measure for chronic rhinosinusitis. Score 0-110; higher scores indicate greater disease burden. Guides treatment decisions and surgical referral.

Score interpretation

Minimal disease burden (SNOT-22 0-9)

→ Reassurance; continue current medical management; review annually

Mild to moderate disease burden (10-29)

→ Optimise medical therapy: intranasal steroids, saline irrigation, allergy management; ENT review if plateau

Significant disease burden (>=30)

→ ENT referral; CT sinuses; consider functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS); assess for polyps and asthma
