BALL Score for Relapsed/Refractory CLL
Predicts overall survival in patients with relapsed/refractory CLL receiving salvage therapy.
Score interpretation
BALL 0–1: Favourable risk group. Better overall survival with salvage therapy.
→ Salvage therapy (BTK inhibitor, venetoclax, or CAR-T evaluation). Active treatment warranted.
BALL 2: Intermediate risk. Median OS approximately 14 months with salvage therapy.
→ Salvage therapy. Consider clinical trial enrolment. Allogeneic SCT evaluation in eligible patients.
BALL 3–4: Poor prognosis. Median OS approximately 5 months with standard salvage.
→ Novel agent combinations (venetoclax-based). Clinical trial enrolment strongly encouraged. Palliative care discussion.
Interpretation bands for the BALL Score. Apply clinical judgement and local guidance.
