Score interpretation

Sub-clinical 0–23

→ No PTSD-specific treatment. Reassess if symptoms develop.

Concerning — partial PTSD 24–32

→ Active monitoring. Trauma-focused psychological intervention. Self-help resources (NICE NG116).

Probable PTSD diagnosis 33–36

→ Refer for trauma-focused CBT / EMDR. Consider SSRI.

Severe distress — long-term consequences likely 37–88

→ Specialist trauma service; combined therapy + pharmacotherapy; address comorbidity and risk.
