Estimated Bladder Capacity (Age-based)
Estimates expected bladder capacity by age. Used in urodynamics and to assess functional bladder capacity.
Score interpretation
Maximum voided volume below 65 % of the ICCS expected capacity.
→ Assess for overactive bladder / voiding dysfunction with a bladder diary; urotherapy; paediatric urology if persistent.
Maximum voided volume 65–150 % of expected capacity.
→ Normal capacity for age.
Maximum voided volume above 150 % of expected capacity.
→ Consider infrequent voiding / underactive bladder; check post-void residual.
Interpretation bands for the Bladder Capacity. Apply clinical judgement and local guidance.
