RECIST 1.1 — Response Evaluation in Solid Tumours

Standard radiological response criteria for solid tumour clinical trials and routine oncology (Eisenhauer 2009). Assesses change in sum of longest diameters (SLD) of up to 5 target lesions vs baseline, and new lesions or unequivocal progression of non-target lesions.

Score interpretation

Complete Response (CR) 0

→ Confirm with repeat imaging ≥4 weeks. Continue therapy or transition to surveillance per protocol.

Partial Response (PR) 1

→ Continue current systemic therapy. Confirm at next scheduled imaging interval.

Stable Disease (SD) 2

→ Continue therapy; reassess at next imaging interval (typically 8–12 weeks). Consider toxicity vs benefit.

Progressive Disease (PD) 3

→ Discontinue current line; switch therapy per MDT; consider biopsy for resistance mechanisms; supportive care discussion if no further options.
