Mantle Cell Lymphoma International Prognostic Index (MIPI)
Simplified MIPI score predicts overall survival in mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Score interpretation
MIPI 0–3: median OS not reached; 5-year OS about 60 % (Hoster 2008).
→ Standard MCL therapy. Consider watch-and-wait in asymptomatic low-burden cases.
MIPI 4–5: median OS 51 months.
→ Systemic treatment required. Consider intensive induction + autologous SCT in eligible patients.
MIPI 6–11: median OS 29 months. Poor prognosis.
→ Intensive therapy. Clinical trial enrolment strongly recommended. BTK inhibitor combinations.
Interpretation bands for the MIPI. Apply clinical judgement and local guidance.
