PLASMIC Score for TTP
Predicts likelihood of ADAMTS13 deficiency (thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura) in patients with thrombotic microangiopathy to guide urgent plasma exchange.
Score interpretation
Low probability of ADAMTS13 deficiency (<5%)
→ TTP unlikely; investigate alternative diagnoses (HUS, DIC)
Intermediate probability of ADAMTS13 deficiency (~24%)
→ Proceed with ADAMTS13 assay urgently; consider empiric PEX while awaiting results
High probability of ADAMTS13 deficiency (>72%)
→ Start plasma exchange immediately; do not delay for ADAMTS13 result
