PLASMIC Score for TTP
Predicts likelihood of ADAMTS13 deficiency (thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura) in patients with thrombotic microangiopathy to guide urgent plasma exchange.
Score interpretation
Low probability of severe ADAMTS13 deficiency (activity ≤ 10 %).
→ TTP unlikely; investigate alternative diagnoses (HUS, DIC)
Intermediate probability of severe ADAMTS13 deficiency.
→ Proceed with ADAMTS13 assay urgently; consider empiric PEX while awaiting results
High probability of severe ADAMTS13 deficiency.
→ Start plasma exchange immediately; do not delay for ADAMTS13 result
