Paediatric Maintenance Fluid (Holliday-Segar)
Calculates maintenance IV fluid rate using Holliday-Segar method. Output in ml/hr.

Maintenance Rate ≥ 0
Calculated maintenance fluid rate. Formula: ≤10kg = 4 ml/kg/hr; 10–20kg = 40 + 2 ml/kg/hr; >20kg = 60 + 1 ml/kg/hr.
→ Use 0.9% NaCl with 5% glucose (isotonic) as standard maintenance fluid (NICE CG174). Adjust for losses. Add KCl 10–20 mmol/500ml if electrolytes adequate. Reassess after 4–8 hours.
