Clinical pearls
- NICE NG198 acne: topical antibiotic always combined with topical retinoid or BPO to limit resistance
- Maximum 12-week course per BAD/NICE
- Zinc reduces irritation and may have additional anti-inflammatory effect

- Hypersensitivity

- Dryness
- Burning
- Bacterial resistance with prolonged monotherapy
Monitoring
- Treatment response at 12 weeks
- Resistance / monotherapy avoided
