Score interpretation
High Risk 0–20
MASCC <21: High risk for serious complications
→ Hospital admission; IV antibiotics; broad spectrum coverage; haematology review
Low Risk 21–26
MASCC ≥21: Low risk (~5% serious complication rate)
→ Consider oral antibiotics; possible outpatient management with daily review; ciprofloxacin + amoxicillin-clavulanate
