Operative Vaginal Delivery
OVD (forceps or ventouse) accounts for ~10–15% of deliveries. Indicated to expedite delivery for: fetal compromise, maternal exhaustion, prolonged second stage, maternal medical conditions (avoiding prolonged pushing). Performed by trained operator with obstetric anaesthesia available.
