Risk Assessment
Any woman of reproductive age with abdominal pain or bleeding — assume pregnancy until proven otherwise. Ectopic risk factors: prior ectopic, PID, tubal surgery, IVF, IUCD, smoking, age >35.
Symptoms: amenorrhoea, abdominal pain (often unilateral), PV bleed, shoulder-tip pain (diaphragmatic blood), dizziness/syncope, rectal pressure.
