DAPT Decision Tool (Ticagrelor vs Clopidogrel)

Guides choice of P2Y12 inhibitor in ACS/PCI. Ticagrelor preferred in high ischaemic risk; clopidogrel preferred in high bleeding risk.

Score interpretation

Clopidogrel preferred

→ Use clopidogrel 75mg OD (loading dose 300-600mg); ticagrelor contraindicated or high bleeding risk

Either acceptable — individualise

→ Discuss with cardiologist; balance ischaemic vs bleeding risk; consider prasugrel if no prior stroke

Ticagrelor preferred

→ Ticagrelor 90mg BD (loading 180mg); superior to clopidogrel in ACS-PCI; check for contraindications
