CAHP Score (Cardiac Arrest Hospital Prognosis)

Predicts 30-day mortality after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) to guide ICU admission and goals-of-care decisions.

Score interpretation

CAHP < 150 — Low Risk 0–149.99

Poor neurological outcome (CPC 3–5) in about 39 % in the derivation cohort.

→ Standard post-resuscitation care; prognosticate with multimodal assessment, not this score alone.

CAHP 150–200 — Medium Risk 150–200

Poor neurological outcome in about 81 %.

→ Multimodal neuroprognostication before any decision; discuss with the family.

CAHP > 200 — High Risk ≥ 200.01

Poor neurological outcome in 100 % of the derivation cohort.

→ Early, honest goals-of-care discussion alongside multimodal prognostication.

Interpretation bands for the CAHP Score. Apply clinical judgement and local guidance.
