Deauville Score (5-Point Scale) for Lymphoma Response

5-point scale for interpreting PET-CT scan response in lymphoma. Compares residual FDG uptake to mediastinal blood pool (MBP) and liver as reference structures.

Score interpretation

Complete Metabolic Response (CMR) 1–2

Deauville 1–2. Complete metabolic response.

→ Continue or complete planned treatment. Continue surveillance.

Partial Response / Equivocal 3

Deauville 3. Partial or equivocal response. Usually classified as CMR in interim scan but PR in end-of-treatment.

→ Assess in clinical context. At end of treatment, consider biopsy if clinically concerning. Continue standard therapy in most interim assessments.

Partial Metabolic Response (PMR) 4

Deauville 4. Partial metabolic response — incomplete.

→ Discuss at MDT. Consider escalation of therapy, biopsy, or salvage regimen. Context-dependent (interim vs end-of-treatment).

No Response / Progressive Disease 5

Deauville 5. No response or progressive metabolic disease.

→ Biopsy to confirm if clinically appropriate. Salvage therapy (e.g., DHAP, GDP, ICE). Consider stem cell transplant work-up in eligible patients.
