Diabetic Retinopathy
Leading cause of blindness in working-age adults. All people with diabetes (Type 1 + Type 2) should attend NHS Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DESP) annually. Screened by digital retinal photography. Grading: no DR → background → pre-proliferative → proliferative → advanced diabetic eye disease (ADED).
