Score interpretation

Low-to-Moderate 10-Year CVD Risk 0–14

SCORE2-OP < 15%: Relatively lower risk. Balance treatment benefit vs. polypharmacy burden in older patients.

→ Lifestyle optimisation. Consider statin if not already prescribed and life expectancy adequate.

High 10-Year CVD Risk 15–29

SCORE2-OP 15–29%: High risk. Statin therapy generally recommended if tolerated.

→ Statin therapy. BP management. Frailty assessment to guide treatment intensity.

Very High 10-Year CVD Risk 30–100

SCORE2-OP ≥ 30%: Very high risk. Aggressive cardiovascular risk reduction as tolerated.

→ High-intensity statin (if tolerated). Aggressive BP control. Full cardiovascular medication review. Consider geriatric assessment.

Interpretation bands for the SCORE2-OP. Apply clinical judgement and local guidance.
